The first Bentleigh Sunday Market Collectibles and Antiques Road Show, held on Sunday 21st of November 2010 attracted over 75 locals who brought in their treasured items for a free valuation. There were many interesting and unusual objects put under observation by auctioneer Simon Lovett and consultant Vanessa Crew.

Many of the owners were surprised to find out the indicative value of their treasures and happy to learn a bit of the history behind them.

Here are some of the videos taken on the day.

Final Chapter for Paperback Pair

FinalChapterjpg

On October 18th, the final chapter was read for Loretta and Stuart - "The Paperback Pair". After several years of selling paperback books at the Bentleigh Sunday Market, these regulars are turning over a new leaf. They would like to thank all the Market patrons, Rotary volunteers, and fellow stallholders for the fun and friendship they have enjoyed.

scaryPooSThe dirt-bag lady cleaned up her act to become Posh Poo (see previous article), but maybe it was boredom or perhaps it was Halloween, but now she is Scary Poo!

Carmel from stall #54 is no shrinking violet (although her fine Ballarat Fertilizers will help yours); after donning her latest persona, we can only wonder what comes after Posh and Scary Poo? Sporty Poo, Baby Poo?

Stop by an see what Carmel has in store for us next. There will be a face painter at the market on November 15th ( Bentleigh Festival) and we can only guess who the first customer will be.

Posh Poo

PoshPooCarmel a.k.a. "The Dirt Bag Lady" has cleaned up her act. Even though she is still a dealer in bagged by-products, Carmel is no wall flower. She's been spotted with festive face painting in the past and now last week, snapped wearing a very vibrant top. The change in attire has prompted a name change: "Posh Poo Lady". We hope she continues to live up to her new name.

By the way, did you know that, "Posh Poo" trucks her wares all the way from Ballarat so that our gardens may benefit from the lovely country chook and cow manure? If you are looking for a bargain, the bags are $4.50 each or 11 for $45. So, come on down to stall #54, pick up a bag (of manure) and say G'day to "Posh Poo"!
